Specimens
Specimens is a collection of 68 organic inventions referencing scientific study from the microcosm to the macrocosm, from cellular biology to deep space.
Each specimen is a one-of-a-kind collage containing between 10 and 50 collage elements. Collage elements are hand-pulled, screen based monoprints, that have been cut up, layered, and adhered with wheat paste or rice paste using an etching press.
Specimens are handleable art objects. They can be displayed free floating on walls using small magnets, traditionally framed, or arranged in site-specific configurations.

Symbiosis is a site specific installation of select specimens suggesting evolution, mitosis, earthly purpose, infinity, and mathematical certainty. With this work I am interested in evolution from a single mother cell, order and complexity without management, understanding and reciprocity as a cycle of giving and receiving, the joy of being in the garden of earthly delight, and how humans approach their everyday.
