This intaglio print was created days after the September 11, 2001 attack. To process what happened that day, I sketched the questions whirling in my head. Twenty-six symbols emerged. The meticulous process of scratching the symbols int the copper plate’s hard ground provided contemplative space to sort out my feelings. Each mark metaphorically documents a thought experience, comments on an inquiry or reveals a process of thinking.
